Teens Technology Empowerment Center

T. Tech

The Sarfoa Foundation, in partnership with the Implementers, introduces a pioneering initiative known as the Teens Technology Empowerment Center (T.TEC). This project addresses the pressing issue of teenage pregnancy by leveraging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and robotics training to empower young people with valuable skills, knowledge, and opportunities. Through T.TEC, the aim is to mitigate the risk factors associated with teenage pregnancy while fostering innovation and personal development among adolescents.

Objectives

  • Preventive Education: T.TEC seeks to educate teenagers about reproductive health, sexual education, and responsible decision-making through innovative ICT-based programs. By providing accurate information and fostering open dialogue, T.TEC aims to empower young people to make informed choices regarding their sexual and reproductive health.
  • Skill Development: T.TEC offers training in ICT and robotics to equip teenagers with relevant skills for the digital age. Through hands-on workshops, coding classes, and robotics projects, participants can enhance their technical proficiency, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, opening up new avenues for personal and professional growth.
Community Engagement: T.TEC promotes community engagement and collaboration to create a supportive environment for teenagers. By partnering with schools, community centers, and local organizations, T.TEC facilitates peer support networks, mentorship programs, and outreach initiatives to address the underlying social determinants of teenage pregnancy.

Implementation

  • Curriculum Development: T.TEC develops a comprehensive curriculum that integrates reproductive health education with ICT and robotics training. The curriculum is designed to be engaging, interactive, and culturally sensitive, catering to the diverse needs and interests of teenagers.
  • Accessible Resources: T.TEC provides access to state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and educational resources to ensure that participants have the tools they need to succeed. From computer labs to robotics kits, T.TEC creates a conducive learning environment where teenagers can explore, experiment, and innovate.
Capacity Building: T.TEC invests in the capacity building of educators, facilitators, and community leaders to deliver high-quality programs and support services. Through training workshops, seminars, and ongoing professional development opportunities, T.TEC empowers stakeholders to effectively engage and empower teenagers.

Impact

Empowered Decision-Making

T.TEC empowers teenagers to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health, reducing the risk of unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. By providing access to accurate information and supportive resources, T.TEC equips young people with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate complex social issues.

Technological Literacy

T.TEC enhances teenagers' technological literacy and digital skills, preparing them for future academic and career opportunities. By fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration through ICT and robotics training, T.TEC equips participants with the tools to thrive in the digital economy.

Community Resilience:

T.TEC strengthens communities by promoting social cohesion, resilience, and positive youth development. By engaging teenagers in meaningful activities, fostering peer support networks, and building bridges between generations, T.TEC contributes to building healthier, more inclusive communities.
